McGowan cuts to CRCs trigger grassroots community campaign

Confirmation of cuts to the State’s CRC Network in the McGowan Government’s first budget has triggered a grassroots campaign to demonstrate the value and importance of CRC services to regional communities.

As regional communities know, CRCs provide a shopfront for Government departments in communities where there are no services, they support local not-for-profit organisations, source funding for projects, offer training and education and run essential services like licensing, banking and Centrelink.

Premier Mark McGowan and his Labor colleagues have belittled the role of CRCs and questioned why some regions have more centres than others.

CRCs, formerly known as Telecentres, are independently run by community members. The people running our CRCs do a brilliant job and we can’t afford to have the Network eroded or undervalued.

Support our CRCs is a campaign encouraging regional communities to have their voice heard loudly when it comes to the services delivered by the CRC Network.

To join the campaign download the petition below and circulate it through your community or post photos and video to The Nationals WA Facebook or Twitter feed with the hashtag #SupportourCRCs.
