The Goldfields

The Nationals are committed to the future of the Goldfields. Through Royalties for Regions the Nationals invested strongly through programs like the Goldfields-Esperance Revitalisation Fund to enhance the region, drive economic growth and stimulate new investment.

We delivered essential community services including a $15.8 million redevelopment of the Kalgoorlie Hospital, $36 million to improve passing lanes on the Great Eastern Highway, and a $45 million redevelopment of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Senior High School.

Royalties for Regions also funded the first ever Royal Flying Doctor Service jet; the $575 Country Age Pension Fuel Card; the Exploration Incentive Scheme; the Goldfields Arts Centre; the redevelopment of Burt Street following the 2010 earthquake; and the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme.

The Nationals are committed to the future of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Goldfields. It is important that local families, businesses and communities in a region generating as much wealth as the Goldfields, are treated fairly by the State Government.

“It is important for the people of the Goldfields to be heard and know there is a party fighting for them.”
Mia Davies MLA, Leader of The Nationals WA.
