The Nationals in the Pilbara

The Nationals are committed to the future of the Pilbara. Through Royalties for Regions the Nationals invested strongly through programs like Pilbara Cities to revitalise the region and prepare it for long-term growth and sustainability.

The Nationals WA oversaw more than $1.7 billion worth of investment into the Pilbara to support the region’s rapid rise in population, brought about as a result of the mining boom. Through Royalties for Regions and Pilbara Cities more than 100 new projects have been funded in the region, supported by State Government, local governments and industry. These projects include the East Pilbara Arts Centre, the Karratha Health Campus and the Paraburdoo Childcare Centre.

The Nationals are committed to the future of the Pilbara. We care about the region and are working hard to ensure the best outcomes for local families, businesses and communities in our State’s north. We’re supporting the City of Karratha in their fight against FIFO camps, and we support an expanded defence presence in the region.

“It is important for the people of the Pilbara to be heard and know there is a party fighting for them.”
Mia Davies MLA, Leader of The Nationals WA.
